There are two kinds of surrogates, Traditional and Gestational.  A Traditional Surrogate is a Surrogate who is genetically related to the child(ren) she is carrying, while a Gestational Surrogate is not. At Joy of Life, we only provide Gestational surrogates. The Intended Parents will create the embryo from IVF (In vitro-fertilization), which is then transferred into the Surrogate’s womb.

At Joy of Life, we aim to have a healthy child(ren), and we will never risk a Surrogate’s health. We value our pregnancy success and delivery rate. thus require our Surrogates to:

• Love to help another family
• Be a US citizen or a permanent resident
• Have delivered at least one child and be raising that child.
• Have no history of mental illness
• Be Ideally from 21 to 39 years old
• Have a BMI under 30
• Have a healthy lifestyle, stable financial situation and strong support system
• Have a good pregnancy and delivery history

We are known to be fast. We match our Surrogates as quickly as possible. Typically, it takes about one month after you receive our confirmation letter once you pass the interview.

Usually it takes about one month to get your medical and psychological screening results back. It will take another two to three weeks to go through legal processes. Once you are cleared to begin your IVF Transfer Cycle, it will take another three to four weeks to build your uterus lining. Thus, the Embryo Transfer will most likely happen after three months from you meet with your intended parents. During this waiting period, we will help you build a strong bond and get ready to start this wonderful journey!

At Joy of Life, we encourage all of our surrogates to be loving and responsible. No smoking (including second hand smoke), alcohol, caffeine or drug use is allowed during the surrogacy. We are proud of our surrogates that are very committed in helping another family have a healthy child(ren). We do the best to help our surrogate stay healthy by providing them with organic foods, supplementaries and customized advice from our nutritionists.

Doctors might use different protocols. Some will involve injections, while others involve no injections at all. If your doctor requires injections, the clinic staff will teach you how to give yourself injections. At the same time, we will try our best to help you make it work.

Surrogates usually receive from $47,000 to $64,000 or more as she completes the journey. It depends on factors including, but not limited to: the number of babies she is carrying, the number of surrogacy experiences and if she has a c-section during delivery. Yes. It will be listed on your surrogate contract, which will insure that you will be fully compensated. Our Surrogate Benefit Packet is very transparent and clear. We will also help you track your compensation month by month.

No. Joy of Life will cover everything before the contract signing, while your intended parents will cover the rest. Everything will be written on your surrogacy contract. On the other hand, we will not only compensate you for helping another family, but give you bonus to show our appreciation. We as an agency, are your support group,  and we will always stand in your shoes.

It will depend on your mutual agreement. Usually we keep it at a good frequency that will not be too overwhelming for both parties, nor too seldom to lose contact. As we have so many years of experience, we are confident that we can be a great liaison.

The Intended Parent(s) will pick up their baby. Some surrogates will continue to pump/feed  the baby. Depending on your mutual agreement, we will arrange picture exchanges, video chat and even reunion parties as time goes by. We will create the best experience for you with the new family.
